In a true shocker to the first women’s-only WWE PLE since 2018’s Evolution, Naomi cashed in during the main event of the card, making the “INSTANT CLASSIC” WWE Women’s World Championship match between champion Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley into a triple threat, making short work of both women on the way to winning her third world championship in WWE.
But wait—didn’t Naomi wrestle Jade Cargill at Evolution?
Spoken like someone who was either watching Saturday Night’s Main Event or caught our quick recap of the best moment of the night. Naomi’s No Holds Barred match against Jade Cargill—with their former Big 3 sistren Bianca Belair as special guest referee—took place earlier in the evening, with Naomi suffering her second loss to Cargill in this feud (which is bad, considering they’ve only wrestled twice so far).
Many viewing at home—this bald writer included—figured Naomi would be saving that cash-in for SummerSlam. Why? Well, with Naomi being in a beef with Cargill, it made sense for Naomi to involve herself in the seemingly-brewing title bout between WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Cargill, a match already set for next month in Jersey.
So…why would Naomi cash-in during this bout?
That’s tough to say. Easy answer? It’s a dope surprise for the end of the show. Iyo and Rhea were on fire in this rubber match, and it truly felt like there wouldn’t be any additional shenanigans. (The thing about shenanigans is that first they shenan, and then they shenan again.) Naomi cashing in on this bout was the perfect swerve in one of Dusty Rhodes’ territories.

What’s next for WWE Women’s World Champion Naomi?
That’s tough to say. This win would effectively have her on Raw, taking her completely out of the beef with Cargill and Belair. Why? Maybe to cool off this feud. Maybe to give Jade a clear path to Stratton. Maybe to capitalize on all of that dope work Naomi has been putting in since she returned to WWE.
With weeks away from SummerSlam, Naomi’s future is so bright, she definitely needs to be rocking shades.
